Hotfix 1 - Low Hanging Fruit


Today marks the first hotfix for Adapt's pre-alpha demo, v0.44.86a. Thanks again to everyone who has tried the game out, and to everyone who has been so kind as to communicate their feedback and report any bugs or issues they have encountered!

This patch is primarily focused on resolving many of the 'quick fix' issues which were reported, as well as a few of the more irritating bugs, which often require a game restart to resolve.


Patch Notes

Gameplay

- Increased Social range for befriending / courting

- Increased Snail size to make interaction easier

- Reduced befriend and courting time

- Carriable item 'telekinesis' decreased

- Reduced Nest UI icon size


Optimizations

- Drastically reduced camera smoothing

- Reduced Min grass draw distance for lower settings

- Reduced reflection draw distance at lower settings

- Reduced base draw distance as an ad-hoc performance improvement

- Slightly reduced base vegetation draw distance

- Reduced Mesh complexity for several common plants


Genetics

- New Limb Adaptations

- Slightly increased animals size scaling

- Reduced average AI size

- Increased Lobe Fin standing height to reduce clipping


AI

- AI are now more likely to purchase duplicates of genes they already possess

- AI Evolve more adaptations, reducing the average number of genes they start with

- AI should more accurately measure food height vs reach


Environmental

- Minor tweaks to world lighting model


Bugs

- (Fixed) Map Generator gets stuck when generating new map – [requires further testing to validate]

- (Fixed) Animals spinning in circles – [requires further testing to validate]

- (Fixed) Distant traveling prevents new vegetation and animal groups from spawning

- (Fixed) Stats toggle breaking UI overlay

- (Fixed) Rapidly striking resets current strike

- (Fixed) Animals not diving for underwater food

- (Fixed) having to drop carried food even after eating it

- (Fixed) Food with only 1 container destroyed when empty

- (Fixed) Eggs no longer vanish on hatch
